@harryp3's Activity Notes:

I don't think I've ever not wanted to go head out for a run more than today; my shoulder was aching (think I slept on it funny), and I just wasn't in the right head-space for it. However, my mood changed very quickly after a few kilometres, and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding runs I've ever run and definitely of the year so far!

It was the long route that I had planned doing yesterday, but with the bad weather I decided to delay it to today. Although, it was stupidly windy today and it was tough getting absolutely battered by it - the worse thing being that I wasn't really able to settle into a steady pace. I started off running to Colman Road and then heading north, swung a left and then ran all the way along to Colney, down past the hospital on Colney Lane, into Cringleford, back up Unthank Road, and then headed on the Martson Marshes loop I discovered a few days ago, and then up Bluebell Road to link it all up! The route was lovely, and didn't make it feel like a chore.

I managed to run an average pace of 4:44m/km and I felt as if I was keeping a lot back in reserve, a good sign was that my pace never dropped below 5:00m/km! The elevation gain was pretty comparable to what I'll experience at the City of Norwich Half Marathon so it was good practice. If I'd have carried on, it would have been a sub-1:40 Half-Marathon effort, but I decided not to so I can keep something in reserve for a 10km (ish) tomorrow. 1:35 is very much achievable, and if I keep on smashing out the miles and doing what I'm doing it's inevitable!
