Morning Run - Frosty Friday, by @steevc

I would normally have run yesterday, but I did not sleep well and woke up to horrible, wet weather. I decided I skip that run, but today was much better. I slept right through and there was no rain or high winds. It was cold though at below freezing. Our deck was very slippery, but the paths were okay.

I headed for Fairfield to go up the hill. It was quite quiet on the streets of Arlesey. The kids are not going to school for now. West Drive was a bit of a slog, but I kept going to the top. Then I just went around the estate up there sticking to the paths. I was not worrying about the pace at all as my legs may still be recovering from Sunday. Somewhere around 5:45/km is fine.

Coming back down the hill was easier of course, but I did not go mad. Then it was the very flat stretch back home through the village.

Some of my toes were a little sore, so I need to check on those. Otherwise I felt fine and a warm shower after breakfast got me feeling fairly human.

The weekend is coming. Hope it is good for you.

Run free and stay well.

My workout was less than exceptional today. I tried something new and it ended up being pretty lame. By the time I finished I didn't have time to do something better, so it was kind of a wasted day. It will be good to give my body a rest this weekend. I need to find some easy yoga I can do to work on stretching my body out and my flexibility.

What wasn't working? Normally anything is better than nothing as long as you are not injuring yourself. We do need some rest though. I see people working out every day, but that takes time as well as wearing you out. I think 3 or 4 runs per week plus some other basic exercises are doing me good.

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.

Enjoy a !BEER in the meantime...

Nice to see that you’re a runner! I run in our local village or on the beach (with lockdown in South Africa we are not allowed on the beach). I only run once a week and take walks the rest of the time. I’ll start posting here one day soon.

We have @actifit and @exhaust for logging activity to create posts.

I see you have posted a fair bit already, but bear in mind that posts only get rewards for a week and you still have a fairly small following. You are doing better than many new users though. Seems someone likes you :)

Wishing you all the best.
