After yesterday's parkrun exertions my legs were feeling a bit stiff today, but I managed to drag myself out of bed. It is another nice morning. Just the right sort of temperature for running. The low sun was a bit annoying at times, but cannot really complain about sunshine.
It was my regular Sunday loop. The long climb up West Drive to Fairfield is a good workout. Up the top I saw one of the local black squirrels who checked me out before scampering off. Not much other wildlife otherwise, just the usual dogs with their owners. Not very many runners today, but I saw some cyclists out for a ride.
My legs were okay once I got running, but I took it fairly easy. This run was not about speed. I was pondering that I actually manage some of the parkrun at a pace that could give me a much better time. I just need to work on my stamina to keep that going to the end. 25 minutes feels very do-able now and I think I could go a bit faster than that.
My listening today was The News Quiz (back again with a new host), Python Bytes (programming stuff) and This Week in Google (with lots of talk about early computers). Check out this commerical that Jim Henson made for IBM in 1967. It's a trip, man!
